NB WS FLEX is a state-of-the-art, high-efficiency line of wet strength agents that can be applied in acidic and alkaline systems. The WS FLEX line was specially developed by Nova Brasil to provide wet resistance to the most varied types of paper. Due to its molecular composition, it can provide temporary and permanent wet resistance depending on the application strategy of each client.
The NB WS FLEX line of resins was developed to be applied mainly in papers intended for human contact, in addition to products for contact with food, as it has a lower AOX content when compared to conventional PAE resins. In addition to checking the required characteristics of specification of RU Indices, it provides important effects in the papermaking process, such as:
- Increased wet and dry traction;
- Excellent fiber and colloid retention aid;
- It has a highly positive effect on drainage in the formation zone by increasing the dry content;
- It does not need high temperatures to start its reaction with the fibers when compared to conventional RU, providing an increase in mechanical strength in the still-wet sheet, which results in reduced breaks in the passes, improving machine speed/productivity (“runnability”);
- Innovative alternative to resins for RU based on conventional PAE;
- Lower AOX, 1,3-DCP and 3-MPCD contents compared to conventional PAE resins;
